Rapper Teskashi 6ix9ine has been hospitalized after he was kidnapped, pistol-whipped and robbed.
According to TMZ, the 22-year-old was filming a music video in Brooklyn, New York, and left the set around 4am on Sunday.
He told police that close to 4:30am, he was sitting in the passenger side of a car when they were hit from behind.
That's Tekashi told law enforcement two men with guns jumped out of the vehicle, stole the driver's iPhone and put the rapper in the back of their car.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the men demanded jewelry and cash from Tekashi.
He then allegedly called someone inside - believed to be his daughter's mother - ans asked her to come down with his jewelry.
The men were allegedly given $750,000 in jewelry and between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash, reported TMZ.
The gunmen allegedly then drove away with Teksahi in the backseat. Sources told TMZ he managed to get one of the rear passenger doors open and escape from the car.
This is different from what TMZ originally reported, that he arrived home to find his driveway surrounded.
He allegedly was pistol-whipped and thrown into the backseat of a car by three masked gunmen.
Tekashi is then said to have flagged down a passing driver, getting into the passenger's seat and begging them to call 911.
The controversial rapper was taken to the hospital via ambulance where he awaits test results, says TMZ.
The gossip website published a photo of the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, dressed in a hospital gown and the right side of his face looking badly bruised and beaten.
Tekashi has gotten into trouble with the law several times.
In October 2015, he pleaded guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance.
The incident involved a 13-year-old girl who was seen 'engaging in oral intercourse' with Taquan Anderson, who was also charged, while Tekashi stood behind her and made thrusting motions with his pelvis.
In another video, the girl was seen sitting naked on Tekashi's lap while Anderson groped her breasts.
As part of his plea deal, Tekashi was ordered to obtain his GED and not commit another crime for two years. If he did so,he would be given probation for three years and not have to register as a sex offender.
In July 2018, he was arrested in New York for an outstanding warrant in Texas, where he allegedly choked a 16-year-old in January 2018.
